On Sunday, May 12, 2024, I hosted the launch party for Streets at the Royal Sands Social Club in Washington, D.C. This beach-themed bar was the perfect venue, resonating with my Miami upbringing and lifestyle. The event was not only a celebration of the culmination of hard work and dedication but also a personal milestone as it was ticketed through Streets and doubled as my birthday party.
The Perfect Venue
Choosing Royal Sands Social Club was a deliberate decision. Its beach-themed ambiance brought a piece of Miami to D.C., creating a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere that perfectly matched the spirit of Streets. The venue was packed with around 400 people, including friends, family, and my fraternity brothers from Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Highlights of the Evening
The night was filled with memorable moments. The crowd sang Happy Birthday to me, and my best friend gave a heartfelt speech before leading everyone in the song. It was incredibly touching to see three of my line brothers travel to D.C. just to celebrate this milestone with me. The support and love in the room were palpable.
Positive Feedback and Challenges
Guests at the party had the opportunity to try out the Streets app and website. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the ease of use and the seamless navigation. They were able to find other pre-launch events and make plans for Memorial Day weekend, showcasing the app’s potential and effectiveness.
However, planning the launch party presented its own set of challenges. Balancing the final touches on the app while organizing the event was no easy feat, especially since I was also managing my full-time role as a Software Development Manager at Comcast Corporation. Despite the time constraints, the event was a huge success, reaffirming my belief in Streets and its mission.
Motivated to Keep Going
The success of the launch party and the positive feedback from users have given me renewed motivation to keep pushing forward. One of the key features that received significant attention was the ability to interact with guests who had RSVP’d for an event. This has inspired me to redesign the Message Center to better target specific audiences at no additional cost.
A Dream Realized
Streets has been a long time in the making. The project took a year to develop, but the idea had been brewing for five years. Turning 35 this year, I realized that this was my “now or never” moment. After 12 years in corporate America, I have not felt truly fulfilled. This milestone has shown me that entrepreneurship is my true passion, and Streets is proof that following your dreams can lead to success.
Hosting the launch party on Streets was a fitting tribute to the journey I’ve been on, and it has set the stage for even greater achievements in the future. The success of this event has solidified my belief in Streets and its potential to revolutionize event management. I am excited for what lies ahead and look forward to continuing this journey with the support of my community and users.

Welcome to Streets.
