Built by a curator who got tired of tools that weren’t built for him, Streets unifies ticketing, communication, and fan data in one place
Washington, D.C. – Streets, a platform built for independent event curators, is now open to promoters, nightlife operators, and DJs looking for a better way to run their events. Founded by Stephan Walters, Streets brings ticketing, audience management, and direct fan communication together in one place; with no online ticketing fees.
Walters built Streets after years of running events himself. He kept running into the same wall: the tools available were built for large venues or general e-commerce, not for the people actually curating culture on the ground. Selling tickets meant one platform. Reaching attendees meant another. Tracking who showed up and getting them back for the next event; meant doing it manually, if at all.
“I was spending more time managing disconnected tools than actually building experiences,” Walters said. “I built Streets to solve the problems I was facing firsthand. If it wasn’t working for me, it wasn’t working for anyone like me.”
The result is a single platform where curators sell tickets, collect attendee data, send messages directly to their audience, and keep more of their money. Streets charges no online ticketing fees, a direct departure from legacy platforms that take cuts on every transaction.
Streets has already processed thousands of transactions since launching, with adoption growing steadily among independent promoters and nightlife curators across the country. Early users point to the direct messaging and audience ownership features as the biggest differentiators; tools that let them build a real fanbase instead of renting access to one.
Most event platforms are built around the transaction. Streets is built around the relationship between a curator and their crowd. When an event ends on Streets, the curator keeps the audience data and the ability to reach those fans again. On most other platforms, that data stays with the platform.
This matters because the event business runs on repeat attendance. A curator who can message last month’s crowd directly about next month’s show does not need to start from scratch with every event. Streets makes that possible without requiring curators to become marketers or pay for separate email tools.
The platform also includes tools for on-site check-in, guest list management, and real-time sales tracking; features that were previously scattered across multiple paid services or simply out of reach for independent operators.
Walters, who holds a background in software development and a Computer Science degree from Florida State University, designed the product architecture himself, which allowed Streets to build features specifically around the curator workflow rather than adapting a generic events tool. That technical foundation also means Streets can move quickly as the needs of curators change.
Streets is now actively pursuing partnerships with event organizations, booking agencies, and venue operators that want to offer curators a better infrastructure. The company sees particular opportunity in nightlife, underground music events, pop-up experiences, and cultural programming; spaces where the curator is the brand, not the venue.
“The goal is to become the platform that event culture actually runs on,” Walters said. “Not the biggest ticketing company. The one curators trust.”
